Arsenal's Arsene Wenger: Leicester favourites to win Premier League title

Arsene Wenger

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has increased the pressure on Leicester by insisting that they are now favourites for the Premier League title.

Wenger's side host the Foxes on Sunday in a key clash between the title rivals, with the visitors five points ahead of the Gunners at the top of the table.

And even though Arsenal can cut that gap to just two points with a win at the Emirates Stadium, Wenger is adamant that Leicester should be considered the frontrunners for the title.

"In one week Leicester have beaten Liverpool and Manchester City," Wenger told reporters after his side's 2-0 win over Bournemouth on Sunday. "That means that they suddenly become the favourite to win the Premier League. That makes our game on Sunday a big one."

Wenger repeated the line about Leicester being favourites several times on Sunday -- a day after Claudio Ranieri insisted his players should not be playing under any pressure.

"Bring to me all the pressure," he said after Leicester's convincing 3-1 victory at City. "Let them play free."
