Thomas Grün starts into his 2nd season with Nancy
One of the very few Luxembourgish players abroad starts into his season this Friday. Thomas Grün goes into his second season with SLUC Nancy and it will be a decisive one for his career and future development.
The 20 year old guard will play another season with the SLUC Espoirs team where he is also the captain of the team. Because of the rules in the French ProA, Grün can only expect to see minutes with the professional team if one of the 5 non-JFL players getting injured. However, the 1m96 tall athlete played several games during the pre-season with the pro team and did the whole preparation with them as well. He got also a license to play in the Eurocup where there are no restrictions on nationalities.
Things might change though for Grün next season when the rules in France will change and there will be again two roster spots open to European non-JFL players. This could be a possibility for Grün to earn a roster in a French professional team once he has turned 21. But first of all, the season 2015/16 starts this Friday with a trip to Nanterre where Grün will play with the Espoirs team.
